BACK HOME IN INDIANA
Sep 20, 2012
Author: Bobby Martins

This Saturday, September 22nd, I have the privilege of appearing with a pretty strong team of sports guys at the All In Men's Conference in Indiana PA. The speakers lineup features Melvin Adams, formerly of the Harlem Globetrotters. Melvin is absolutely hilarious and brings a lot of street cred to the proceedings. Tom McGough, who pitched for the Cleveland Indians provides great insight into climbing the ladder of success personally, spiritually, and professionally. Closing the event will be the Atlanta Brave and Pittsburgh Pirate star Sid Bream. I've heard Sid speak on numerous occasions, and he's always powerful and inspiring. My talk is entitled "Behold the Man."

Why is this entry entitled "Back Home in Indiana?" During the '90's, Lori and I lived there. It was during this time that the Chrysler deal came together and really catapulted my career, so my memories of Indiana are sweet. Indiana is a place with good people, good community, and by the way, a lot of nice places to eat. So I look forward to being there this Saturday. The event is the CSI All In Men's Conference, Behold the Man. It's at Grace United Methodist Church, 712 Church St, Indiana PA 15701. Things get underway at 9 am with music be Shawn Amy. The church opens at 7:30 for early arrivals.

Another event I'm excited about is the All In Men's Night on October 18th. This will be something of a homecoming for me as the event happens at Chippewa United Methodist Church. I'll be hosting the evening. The keynote speaker is four-time Super Bowl Champion with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jon Kolb. Jon is a powerful man, having won strength contests nationwide, but he's even more powerful as a speaker. If your schedule allows, this event is a must. You'll be glad you were there.

People have been asking about the racing program. My situation is the same as what other drivers such as Don Garlits, Don Prudhomme, Shirley Muldowney, and this year, Larry Dixon have done. I have by no means retired, or plan to quit, but am concentrating on securing a marketing partnership. This is simply the business side of the business. Our goal is to generate the funding necessary to field a top caliber race team. The scenario can be with our own car or me driving for someone else. The racer in me wants to get back out there. In fact I've been going to the track participating in various regional and local events. But I'd like to be back on the national scene, so that's what we're working on. In the meantime, I've been doing speaking engagements and school appearances. In all likelihood, that will continue (if not increase) when we get back on the track. We really appreciate your interest, so keep checking back here for updates. I'd love to make an announcement here soon. Keep those prayers going. It's in God's will and His timing that everything happens.
